I am a Backend Software Engineer from Malta with over four years of professional experience building reliable, efficient, and scalable software systems, specialising in C#, .NET, distributed systems, and cloud-based technologies such as AWS, with hands-on experience developing and maintaining high-throughput applications within the gaming industry.
Beyond day-to-day development, I love to travel and explore new places, and I have a passion for cars, football and the gym. I also like broadening my horizons with emerging technologies, especially with the latest AI advancements.
Designing, building, maintaining, testing, and deploying backend features from the initial technical analysis and design stages through to production release. Working with modern .NET technologies, Kafka for event-driven messaging, AWS for cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for repeatable and reliable deployments, while also contributing through code reviews, pull request approvals, and team collaboration to maintain code quality, reliability, and consistency across services.
Developed and maintained .NET / C# web applications backed by Microsoft SQL Server, with a strong backend focus. Designed REST APIs secured with bearer-token authentication, wrote stored procedures and optimised queries, and delivered incrementally on two-week Agile sprints.
Backend developer on a Windows-based application, applying OOP principles and performance optimisation. Delivered bug fixes, hot fixes and new features within sprint planning, managed branches and reviewed pull requests, working with Git, JIRA and Jenkins CI/CD.
An Erasmus placement in Prague testing core application functionality, analysing logs to trace root causes, and contributing small performance and reliability fixes through a collaborative code-review workflow.
